Contouring with make-up is a clever hack for instant facial definition.

- EVA-MARIA BOBBERT & ANNA LEE

The shape shifters

When sculptor Henry Moore said "a sculptor is a person obsessed with the form and shape of things", he couldn't possibly have imagined a sculptor in the age of the internet: make-up devotees carving out cheekbones, and cutting jawlines with bronzer and highlighter, reel after mesmerising reel, on socials. But there is an art to it.

"Contouring, when done correctly, can subtly or dramatically sculpt, lift and refine your features," says celebrity make-up artist Rae Morris. "Contouring can make a big difference without being too obvious. Once you get the hang of it, it's a total game-changer."
