An affordable scanner with good speeds and output quality plus a smart driverless scanning feature
-
The imageFormula DR-S350NW networked desktop scanner has a neat trick up its sleeve: you don't need to install anything to use it. Just point a browser at its IP address and you're presented with its smart CaptureOnTouch (COT) Lite web interface, which offers a range of quick scan options.
Clicking on the COT icon on its homepage presents a menu for selecting colour or greyscale, page size, resolution up to 300dpi, simplex or duplex scans, double feed detection and a passport mode. Moving to the Output page, you select PDF, JPEG or TIFF file formats, enable OCR with a choice of ten languages and hit the Scan button.
It’s very easy to use, and we had no problems with Edge, Chrome or Firefox on our Windows 11 clients. When scans are pulled in they're sent to the Downloads folder, with multiple files automatically placed in ZIP archives.
Mobile users can select the COT Lite Web option in the scanner's touchscreen and point their camera at the QR code. We used an iPad and, after scanning the code, it loaded Safari with the COT Lite web interface ready to use.
