Opoku-Fordjour will thrive with England - Rodd

Rodd, Opoku-Fordjour and Luke Cowan-Dickie were outstanding in Sale's thumping 33-7 win over Toulon to reach the last 16 of the Champions Cup.

Experienced hooker Cowan-Dickie has won 45 England caps, loosehead prop Rodd has seven and talented tighthead Opoku-Fordjour, 20, made his Test debut against Japan in November.

Along with Tom Roebuck, George Ford, Raffi Quirke and Ben and Tom Curry, they are part of an eight-strong Sale contingent in Steve Borthwick's Six Nations squad.

While Rodd and Opoku-Fordjour missed out on selection for the opener against Ireland yesterday, 24-year-old Rodd is certain his younger team-mate will go on to star on the international stage.

Rodd told The Rugby Paper: "Everyone at Sale knew about Asher's potential last year. It was just a case of when, not if, he was going to show it in the Premiership, Champions Cup and international level.

"Asher's 20, which is wild because he's playing week in and week out at tighthead and that's unheard of.
