Ealing enjoy feeling all over again

CLAPPING their travelling fans and enjoying jugs of beer in the sun were the order of the day for Ealing after they wrapped up their third Championship title in four years.

The celebrations flowed after the champions made it back-to-back titles with a professional six-try victory over Caldy led by their try-scoring skipper Mike Willemse.

Ealing director of rugby Ben Ward said: “I’m delighted for the boys more than anything. There’s quite a bit of relief to get the job done. It was a tough game, Caldy are a dangerous side.

“Mikey’s led the side really well all season, he did so again today. Craig Hampson and Craig Willis both put in really strong performances, as did Jordan Holgate and Rob Farrar. They’ve been tremendous all season, it’s a younger group and they deserve the plaudits as they’re a real credit to En glish rugby.”
