Darge: We're all set for Toulon challenge

SCOTLAND flanker Rory Darge believes Glasgow’s 2023 Challenge Cup final defeat by Toulon proved pivotal in their progression to URC champions last season as they prepare for a tasty Champions Cup reunion in the south of France today.
Warriors were overpowered 43-19 by an experienced Toulon outfit at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium at the end of Franco Smith’s first season as head coach, having also stumbled in a home URC quarter-final loss to eventual champions Munster.
But Glasgow swiftly learned the lessons of those knockout blows on a remarkable run to the URC title in May, featuring a semi-final victory at Munster’s Thomond Park and a stunning final triumph over the Bulls in Pretoria.
“In my case and a lot of the other boys, it was our first experience of a final, and even the build-up to it,” Darge recalled of their Dublin humbling.
