Borthwick is spoilt for choice on the wings
The Rugby Paper

the state of the game to Tom Varndell, the former England, Wasps, Bristol and Leicester winger
What did you make of the England squad that was announced?
Overall, it’s pretty exciting. Having Immanuel Feyi-Waboso back in there is great. I know he’s had a couple of injuries, but he’s an exciting player, and it’s a great opportunity for him. It’s good to see some of the Leicester Tigers boys in there - Jack van Poortvliet is back in there along with Freddie Steward, who has a massive opportunity to show Steve Borthwick what he's about because he had a bit of a tough run last year being dropped from the Six Nations matchday squad.
A tour down to South America, facing Argentina, is going to be tough, but it’s a great opportunity for these lads to show Steve what they’re about.
From the wingers that were picked, who would you like to see start the summer Tests?
Feyi-Waboso would definitely be one wing, and I'd have Tom Roebuck the other. I thought Roebuck, when he got his opportunity in the Six Nations, was outstanding on the wing. He’s been brilliant for Sale this season as well. And he’s not just an out-and-out winger. He’s got rugby intelligence as well. He’s a big lad, very strong and he’s got natural speed as well.
How impressed have you been with Adam Radwan, below left, at Leicester Tigers since joining from Newcastle?
It’s been so good seeing Adam go from strength to strength at Leicester. At Newcastle, he was doing some amazing things, but it’s a tough environment being bottom of the table most years. So for a winger to stand out in that environment, you know, he's going to be quality. But he’s fitted in and is improving every week. And that’s only going to get better and better. He’s not a million miles away from getting an England call-up again because he’s got so much talent. I don’t think there’s a player in the Premiership who’s got his agility and natural speed as well.
Are there any other wingers you think deserve a chance?
