Beaumont isn't I fear right man for the job

RUGBY Union's dire inability to handle the crisis threatening a great sport's future is reflected in Sir Bill Beaumont's hasty appointment as interim Rugby Football Union chairman.
Forgetting his obvious first task ending the reign of Bill Sweeney as RFU CEO, does anyone think Beaumont capable of reversing the Premiership's stranglehold on the English game? The RFU needs England making use of its huge resources with a properly funded two-division league system with no play-offs and a two-up two-down relegation system with no pre-conditions.
England's entire U20 World Cup champions side could then showcase their talents in a vibrant league system free of Premiership academies hijacking promising young players.
Beaumont's popularity, fine playing record as an England and Lions captain along with his lifetime devotion to the game have earned him a knighthood.
But during his reign as World Rugby chairman Beaumont, above right, has been a poor administrator.
