Comprehensive scouting reports on the top 75 draft prospects

BEST IN CLASS

Baseball America draft rankings attempt to capture industry consensus on the top talents for 2025. The list is compiled in consultation with major league scouts, front office executives, coaches and other professional evaluators.

The 2025 draft class has been a puzzle for teams. It's a deep group, but one that lacks separation at the very top. In particular, scouts have lamented the quality of the highest-caliber college hitters, a demographic that usually excites teams with top picks. That doesn't mean the 2025 draft is weak—it's just riskier and more volatile than usual.

The high school hitting talent of the class stands out, led by Oklahoma shortstop Ethan Holliday. Other notable prep players include California righthander Seth Hernandez and Oklahoma shortstop Eli Willits.

We include BA Grades—on the 20-80 scale, where 50 is average—risk assessments and projected scouting grades for the top 75 players in the class.

#1 ETHAN HOLLIDAY, SS STILLWATER HS STILLWATER, OK AGE: 18. B-T: LR. HT: 6-4. WT: 210. COMMIT: OKLAHOMA STATE.

SCOUTING OVERVIEW

With easy lefthanded power and good rhythm and balance in the box, Holliday has offensive upside that rivals any player in the 2025 draft. His bat will play even if he moves to third base or the outfield.
