No finer place for sure as Downton closes its doors

There's something quite British about a trip to the cinema so it's quite apt TV show that Downton Abbey's final chapter - The Grand Finale - is on the big screen.

Julian Fellowes' period drama comes to a heartfelt and gushingly sentimental conclusion with a lavish third big screen instalment directed by Simon Curtis, in two hours of gorgeously lit screen time.

Downton's Grand Finale teases pomp and majesty with its sweeping subtitle, although the script divides its cheerios across its running time, interspersed with biting one-liners for which Fellowes and his chocolate box creation have become rightfully renowned ("The hereditary system can't afford to be sentimental!")
