Late night blaze On the Hartwood Hospital site

A major fire has ripped through a derelict nursing home at the old Hartwood Hospital site.

Residents of Hartwood were awoken in the early hours of Friday morning after a large fire broke out within the grounds of Hartwood Hospital.

The blaze, located in the former nursing home building, spread rapidly and resulted in the extensive damage of the long-abandoned property.

Emergency services attended the scene in the early hours of the morning, with fire crews working for several hours to bring the flames under control. No injuries have been reported at this time.
