Activities bring exciting end to school year at St Aidan's

St Aidan’s High School welcomed a new head teacher at Easter who is keen to enhance the school.

Audrey Farley took up the post having moved over from the Falkirk local authority area, where she was a depute head teacher. Initially she taught history and modern languages.

She is keen to increase pupil participation at St Aidan’s High and to give pupils a chance to use their voice to improve the school and the wider community.

"I want people to feel a real sense of belonging and for our school to be somewhere they feel loved, respected and seen,” Mrs Farley said.

“It’s all about building relationships. Young people face many challenges, and mental health is more of a priority than ever.

“We need to ensure that we meet everyone's needs. We need other calm working spaces for pupils, for example a library”. She is working with pupils and staff to design these.

Mrs Farley wants to ensure that all pupils are helped to work effectively in different ways, and is keen to build on the strengths of the school and to reward hard work and effort.
