Trump and Carney meet at White House for key trade talks

UNITED States President Donald Trump said there is “mutual love” but “natural conflict” between the US and Canada, as he sat down with Canada’s Prime Minister Mark Carney yesterday in the Oval Office.

Mr Carney’s second visit to the US took place as one of the world’s most durable and amicable alliances has been fractured by Mr Trump's trade war and annexation threats. Among the topics up for discussion were trade and the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement, which is critical to Canada’s economy and is up for a review next year.
