'Local tourism at a tipping point'

THE leader of the Liberal Democrats has said that tourism is the lifeblood of many communities across the South West. But he warned the cost of living crisis has reduced footfall and left basic running costs spiralling out of control.

Sir Ed Davey took his fight for South West tourism to new heights by climbing aboard a rollercoaster at a Devon theme park to demand urgent government action on tax hikes and spiralling costs. The move comes as the Liberal Democrats warned that the government's planned National Insurance increase could “devastate” tourism across the South West.
