Family farm 'working to promote safety on A371'

A ROAD safety event has been held to discuss the local challenges facing the A371 route.
Councillor Claire Sully organised the discussion forum at the Bath and West Showground on May 6. Its purpose was to discuss with the highways department various ways to address road safety challenges. Coun Sully highlighted progress on the A371 in her division, such as speed restrictions, enhanced signage, and targeted safety measures.
She said they were achieved through community engagement and guided by expert advice from Somerset Council and the police with the goal of reducing accidents and saving lives.
The event was supported by Ansford Parish Council and hosted by Carol Paris, CEO of Bath and West, at the Rural Enterprise Centre.
It brought together local representatives, police, community leaders, Somerset Council, local businesses and MP Anna Sabine to focus on making roads safer for communities.
