A RURAL health service pioneering care for farmers and isolated communities is planning a major expansion to improve access to essential health screenings and consultations.

The Exmoor Rural Health Hub, which runs twice-monthly drop-in clinics alongside livestock sales at Wheddon Cross, is aiming to raise £110,000 to build new dedicated consulting rooms onsite. The charity behind the hub says current facilities are no longer meet demand.

Located next to the Exmoor Farmers' Livestock Market at Cutcombe, the hub operates out of a temporary structure, with one NHS nurse and a mental well-being practitioner offering four-hour clinics timed to coincide with alternating cattle and sheep sales.
