THOUSANDS of South Bristol homes spent the weekend without running water after one burst in the pipe became two.

Around 2,600 customers in the BS4 and BS14 areas initially lost supply on Friday morning.
And while the impacted main on Hawkfield Road was repaired on Saturday, a second leak was then discovered during the recharging process, requiring complex excavation work to remedy the problem.
A bottled water station was set up in Hengrove Way.
