Town's lack of pharmacies leaves patients facing dangerous delays

PATIENTS are being left waiting for lifesaving medication because a Mid Devon town is suffering a shortage of pharmacies.

The situation in Tiverton has got so bad that the local MP is now demanding urgent government intervention.
The number of pharmacies in the town has fallen from five to two, leaving Boots and Jhoots to manage the demand.
However, Jhoots reportedly operates only one of its two sites, and even then opening hours are irregular and the availability of pharmacists unpredictable.
Rachel Gilmour, MP for Tiverton and Minehead, said constituents had been left waiting for lifesaving medication, with long queues forming at the Boots branch as it struggled to fill the gap.
