Teen suffers 'black eye and fat-lip' in 11-on-1 assault

- Thomas Cooper

A MUM is demanding tougher action against young yobs after her son was cornered in a vicious assault by an 11 strong gang.

The 17-year-old suffered a black eye, fat lip and 'bruises all over his body' in the attack in Westbridge Park, Stone - the same place that 15-year-old Annaleese O'Neill was beaten up by a 20-strong group in March. The two sets of parents believe the incidents are linked.

The victim, a former pupil of Alleyne’s Academy, had only recently moved back to Stone.

His mother says he was in the park playing football with friends when other teenagers approached them and a row broke out.

She said: “Around 11 kids of all different ages circled around him. The youngest was about 11 and the oldest was around 16. They told my son he had to fight.

“He said he wasn’t going to - but they said if he tried to leave without fighting the boy, the entire group would jump him.
