AN historic police station that closed its doors for good this year is set to go under the hammer.

The Grade II-listed building has been given a guide price of £400,000-plus ahead of Bond Wolfe's livestreamed auction later this month.

The property on Balance Street in Uttoxeter includes two linked buildings, various outbuildings and car parking. It permanently shut as a police station back in the spring, with the force now based at the town's fire station.

Ian Tudor, commercial auction director at Bond Wolfe, explained that the property was now considered suitable for a variety of alternative uses, subject to planning permission.
