NGCP clears grid impact study of 500-MW Alternergy projects

Alternergy Holdings Corp. has secured clearance from the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) for the system impact study (SIS) of its planned five renewable power projects.

With a total potential generation of up to 500 megawatts (MW), the projects recently completed the grid impact study, which determines the capacity of the country’s transmission networks to accommodate a new connection.

“The NGCP approval of the SIS is a significant step to move our projects forward. It confirms the grid’s capability and readiness to accommodate and integrate our projects into the system,” Alternergy president Gerry Magbanua said.
