Next Goal Is FIBA World Cup

With its campaign at the FIBA Asia Cup in Jeddah over, Gilas now turns its attention to the six-window FIBA World Cup Asia qualifiers starting in November.

It'll be a 3 1/2 month wait before Gilas takes on Guam in a road game on Nov. 28 and coach Tim Cone has the daunting task of regrouping the troops while deciding whether or not to expand the pool of 12 players and three reserves. Kai Sotto's status is still in the balance, but if he's fully recovered from an ACL injury, Cone will surely welcome the 7-3 center back in the fold. There is also the prospect of reeling in Quentin Millora-Brown.
