Meralco Teams Up With State Firms To Ease Net Metering Applications

The Marcos administration is teaming up with the country's largest power utility to expedite the processing of net metering applications, allowing consumers to sell electricity to the grid.

The Department of Energy (DOE) and Pangilinan-led Manila Electric Co. (Meralco) recently convened a meeting aimed at cutting red tape that stands in the way of consumers. "We will tear down the walls of red tape, set clear and uniform rules and fast-track approvals so households can start generating and selling clean power without being buried in paperwork," Energy Secretary Sharon Garin said.
