An underwater utopia for humans to mingle with dolphins. There are many pleasingly strange things in the Design Museum's new exhibition, More Than Human, but all of them come from sincere ideas about how we can integrate with nature rather than simply burning it to build more shopping centres.

What if design practices helped species and ecosystems? What if the future of human activity is one that could embrace more than humans? Aside from anything else, things would certainly look at lot cooler, if this cornucopia of delights is anything to go by.

The Transspecies Rosette by Andrés Jaque is a form of cladding that looks straight out of the Alien films, but is actually a cork minilandscape designed for our friends, the fungi; here buildings are not merely blocks for people to scratch themselves inside, but reframed as a flourishing ecosystem.

Nearby are models of Bird Cities, Wes Anderson-looking sets designed by Italian architecture firm Studio Ossidiana, some of which have actually been built as places where humans can mix with our feathered friends.
