THE UK’s public equity markets are at a critical inflection point. Historically, a magnet for global capital - and a launchpad for British innovation - London is now watching a steady stream of companies depart, heading either to foreign shores or into private ownership.

Eighty-eight companies left the UK’s public markets last year and 70 have exited so far in 2025. Even some of the UK's largest businesses can become the subject of rumours speculating on their potential exits.
