Racecourse on track for future success – directors

DIRECTORS at Newcastle Racecourse say they are optimistic for the future after seeing sales rise as more racegoers flock to the Gosforth ground.

High Gosforth Park Ltd, which trades as the Newcastle Racecourse, brings together the activities of the racetrack as well as management of the owned estate, including Parklands Golf Course.

Now accounts for 2024 have been filed by the company, which is part of the UK wide Arena Racing Company, which is ultimately owned by one of the richest family businesses in the world, the Reuben Brothers. They show a rise in turnover, yet profits took a tumble amid investments and the cost-of-living crisis. Directors also sounded a note of caution among lingering cost issues.
