NEWCASTLE United's preseason schedule kicks off this weekend as Eddie Howe finally unleashes his 2025/26 crop in front of thousands of supporters against Celtic.

The Scottish champions will provide Eddie Howe the perfect opportunity to get minutes into the legs of his returning stars, with one eye kept on who could stake a claim for more face time in and around the senior side heading into the new season. Howe is expected to use at least 22 players north of the border as he experiments with different lineups in each half.

Newcastle used this tactic last weekend in a behind closed doors friendly against Carlisle United.

First half XI: Nick Pope, Kieran Trippier, Jamaal Lascelles, William Osula, Joe Willock, Sean Longstaff, Alex Murphy, Lewis Miley, Trevan Sanusi, Leo Shahar, Sean Neave.
