Double tragedy led to creation of life-saving team

This month has seen the anniversary of a tragedy that sparked the creation of an organisation that has gone on to save many lives. NICOLE GOODWIN reports

It has been 63 years since a heartbreaking double tragedy which led to the formation of a heroic team of volunteers who continue to carry out lifesaving rescue missions.
Shepherds Jock Scott and Willie Middlemass died less than half a mile from their home after becoming caught in a terrible snow storm as they made their way back from Rothbury Mart.
