My career on Tyneside had become ‘stuck’, says

FORMER Newcastle United forward Ben Parkinson has vowed to push his career on after becoming an instant hit at his new club - having admitted his career had become ‘stuck’.
Parkinson was the cup hero for Falkirk as they beat SPL leaders Hearts in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup at the weekend as they became the first side to come away from Tynecastle with a victory this season after a dramatic penalty shootout win.
Parkinson came on at halftime in what is his third appearance for Falkirk, and opened the scoring just before the hour mark. He then put his team ahead with a strike that looked to be the winner until Lawrence Shankland's penalty four minutes from time sent the game to a penalty shootout.
Parkinson stepped up as fifth taker for Falkirk to score the winning penalty and send them through to the next round, before bullishly claiming the minnows could go on and lift the trophy.
“You have got to believe,” Parkinson said. “That's what we are all about, and I love that pressure. I think we can go all the way.
