Girlguiding trans ban after legal changes

GIRLGUIDING has announced that it will no longer allow transgender girls to join the organisation, stating it will now restrict membership to “girls and young women" as defined in law.

The move follows a Supreme Court judgment delivered nearly eight months ago, which clarified that the terms “woman” and “sex” in the Equality Act 2010 refer to biological women and biological sex.
