The Herald
|September 27, 2025
LOVERS of literature will be in for a treat at the fourth annual South Hams Liter- ary Festival next weekend - which fea- tures some of Devon’s best novelists.
-
The festival returns to Ivybridge for a vibrant weekend of author talks, storytelling, and literary celebration.
Taking place on Saturday and Sunday, October 4 and 5, the festival features a packed programme of free events for bookworms of all ages.
"This festival is all about bringing people together to celebrate the power of stories," said organiser Alison Huntingford, herself a historical fiction author. "We're thrilled to welcome established authors and fresh new voices to Ivybridge - and everything is free."
The festival kicks off at 10am on Saturday at Ivybridge Library with Killer Stories and Criminal Minds, a crime fiction discussion featuring local talents David Sharp, author of For All Your Endeavours, and Helena Dixon, writer of The Secret Detectives Agency series set in World War Two, hosted by radio presenter Catherine Dodd.
