Jade named Woman of the Year by slimmers

DEDICATED DIABETES BOOK HELPS HER SHED FIVE STONE

A WOMAN who felt scared, tired and out of control has lost five stone.

Mum-of-two Jade Carter, 36, from Plymouth, knew something had to change when she realised her weight was stopping her from living the life she wanted.

Living with type 2 diabetes and feeling constantly tired, unhappy, and out of control, Jade was desperate for a fresh start. Jade joined her local slimming world group in January 2025 and is now five stone lighter.

She said: “Before joining Slimming World, my health was really suffering. After being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, I was scared. I didn’t know how it would affect my life long-term, but I knew I needed help to lose weight and take back control.”

A conversation with a friend led them both to walk through the doors of their local group together. Jade said: “I was nervous and embarrassed.

“But I didn’t need to be, Louise, our Consultant, was so welcoming, and the other members were lovely. I felt instantly supported”
