Blade found near park during litter collection

A TEAM of public-spirited volunteers who endeavour to clean up their community have uncovered yet another frightening-looking weapon during their latest outing.

The Clean Our Patch group are frequently out and about the city, picking up litter and other assorted detritus others leave behind, but unlike the Wombles, not everything they discover can be - or should be - reused or recycled.

Just last year the group discovered a fearsome looking revolver and a single round dumped behind an electrical box in Peverell.

And now, during a tidy-up of Victoria Park and surrounding lanes and paths in Stonehouse last Thursday, one member spotted what they thought was a ditched wallet.
