Argyle confirm the appointment of Cleverley on three-year deal

Ian Foster was appointed early in the January but lasted only 14 league games before he was dismissed, with then director of football Neil Dewsnip and long-serving first team coach Kevin Nancekivell successfully guiding the Pilgrims to Championship survival.

Wayne Rooney, a former team-mate of Cleverley's for Manchester United and England, became Argyle's head coach last summer but the club parted ways with him on New Year's Eve, 2024 with the Pilgrims bottom of the table.
Former Cercle Brugge boss Muslic was brought in to replace Rooney and while there was some improvement in performances and results, including shock FA Cup wins against Brentford and Liverpool, Argyle still ended up being relegated to League One.
