With Christmas on the horizon, these budget-friendly titles are a sight for sore eyes

- CHERYL MULLIN

I HATE to drop the C word but we're very much on the downward slope towards Christmas.

That means a tight few months are on the way, stockpiling the pennies to spend on gifts.

Being canny with your cash means it’s difficult to justify splurging on yourself, especially if you have a pricey hobby like gaming.

But here are a few pocket-friendly titles to keep you amused on the cold autumn evenings to come.

So, if you're looking to grab a gaming bargain this October, these are a few titles worth taking a look at.

ABSOLUM

(PEGI 16) PS4, PS5, Switch, PC Price: £31.99

This game has a fantastic pedigree, being developed by the same team that created Streets of Rage 4.

Absolum is a side scrolling beat'em up video game with rogue-like elements.

Fight as one of the four outcast heroes of Talamh in a fierce battle to retake magic from Sun King Azra’s grasp. You can choose from multiple character classes, with each having their own unique combat style.

There's Karl, a dwarf who fights with his bare fists and guns; Galan-dra, an elf armed with a huge sword; the agile Cidar wields two daggers which allow her to attack quickly while Brome is a humanoid frog and a wizard who can surfin the air.
