Rama says he is open for party alliances

|July 05, 2025
While there is no direct confirmation as to whether Partido BARUG and KUSUG will rekindle their alliance to form the majority bloc of the Cebu City Council, former mayor Michael Rama said he is open to any alliance.
-
Rama said, regardless of political alliances, they will continue to stand up for the people.
As head of Partido BARUG, Rama said no alliance will exist unless a formal document is signed as proof.
“As a president of Team Rama and Partido BARUG, I am telling you, for the good of the city of Cebu...I am always open for any alliance,” said Rama.
It can be recalled that despite initial reports suggesting that Partido BARUG and KUSUG councilors might rekindle their alliances to form the council’s majority bloc, Cebu City Mayor Nestor Archival Sr. said he will remain diplomatic.
He said that it wouldn’t be an issue for his administration if the majority doesn’t come from their side.
ACCOMPLISMENT REPORT
Meanwhile, Rama delivered an "undisclosed" accomplishment report during his term.
In a press conference, Rama also reiterated his plan to run in the 2028 elections to realize his unfinished vision for Cebu City.
Rama presented his detailed accomplishments through a powerpoint presentation. These included his efforts in alleviating the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, such as formation of a multi-sectoral convergence group and issuances of executive orders.
In addition, Rama's efforts to restore damaged properties during Typhoon ‘Odette’ and issuance of Executive Order 163 or ‘Oplan Kagawasan’, which lifted the strict restrictions of the COVID-19 pandemic were also highlighted.
