During the NBA Draft, top prospects are given invitations to sit in what the league calls the Green Room. NBA hopefuls then wait for their names to be called and be picked by teams.
Many were surprised when NBA commissioner Adam Silver called Yang Hansen, a 20-year-old, 260 pound, 7-foot-1 center for Portland at number 16. He was a projected second round pick because there was difficulty for American scouts to follow his progress in China. Yang told interviewers that he was busy eating fried chicken when his name was called and came down from the stands, as he was not in the green room.
