This is according to the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO), which stated that no untoward incidents were reported from the first day of the novena until the fourth day yesterday, January 11.
To recall, the religious activities began on January 8 with the Penitential Walk with Jesus from Fuente Osmeña Circle to the Basilica Minore del Santo Niño de Cebu, drawing nearly 300,000 devotees.
The following day, January 9, the cultural side of the festivity also started as the Opening Salvo for Sinulog 2026 officially kicked off.
On January 10, Sinulog sa Dakbayan was held, wherein vibrant, upbeat, and meaningful performances were showcased in honor of the Holy Child.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Jose Los Baños, information officer of the CCPO, asserted that the recent event also concluded successfully, noting that zero individuals were reported injured and no public commotions were recorded.
