'Nando' barrels past Babuyan Islands

Super Typhoon Nando (international name: Ragasa) is bringing dangerous winds and causing heavy rain and storm surge as its eye currently passes very close to Babuyan Island on Monday afternoon, state weather bureau PAGASA said.

At 1 p.m., Nando's center was over the coastal waters of Babuyan Island in Calayan, Cagayan, moving west at 25 kilometers per hour (kph).
PAGASA said the typhoon packed maximum sustained winds of 215 kph near the center, gusts of up to 295 kph, and a central pressure of 910 hPa.
