|October 26, 2025
Peoples Conference Chairman and MLA Handwara, Sajad Gani Lone on Saturday accused the National Conference (NC) of supporting the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) during the recent Rajya Sabha elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
He also announced that his party will begin a campaign against the ongoing reservation policy in the Union Territory.
Speaking at a press conference in Srinagar, Lone said that the current reservation structure was undermining merit in recruitment and education. "Open merit has been set aside. We are launching a public registration drive against this system. If protests or hunger strikes are needed, we are prepared for that," he said.
