The SC on Monday directed the Chief Secretaries of all States and UTs except West Bengal, Delhi, and Telangana to appear before it next Monday for failing to file compliance affidavits on the implementation of the Animal Birth Control (ABC) Rules, 2023.

A bench of Justice Vikram Nath, Justice Sandeep Mehta, and Justice N.V. Anjaria expressed strong displeasure, noting that only West Bengal, Telangana, and the Municipal Corporation of Delhi had submitted their affidavits despite earlier directions.
