Gujarat’s political scene witnessed a major shakeup on 17 October 2025, as Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel swore in a new cabinet— just a day after all 16 ministers in the previous one resigned, leaving only him in office. The highlight of the reshuffle is the elevation of Harsh Sanghavi as Deputy Chief Minister. At 40, the threetime MLA from Majura (Surat) was already handling key portfolios-Home, Revenue, and Disaster Management. His promotion is seen as a reward for strong performance and appeal among urban voters, particularly in South Gujarat. Known for his active social media presence and firm stance on law and order, Sanghavi's rise signals the BJP's push to project younger, energetic faces to refresh the government's image.
