CAPTAIN Connor Riley-Lowe hailed Truro City's trophy lift and open-top bus celebrations as 'unbelievable.

- by GARETH DAVIES

Thousands of supporters lined the streets of Truro to see the National League South champions' victory parade, with the trophy lifted in front of a huge crowd outside the city's landmark cathedral on Saturday.

The Tinners, who became the first Cornish side to win promotion to Step 1 of the non-league pyramid in April, after a dramatic final day win over St Albans City, weren't initially handed the trophy, due to an incredible six-way fight for the title.

However, the wait was very much worth it as under clear blue skies, Riley-Lowe, who passed 300 games for City this season, lifted the trophy amidst joyous scenes - the likes of which are rarely seen in Cornish football.

"It's magic, unbelievable and I can't really put it into words," he said. "It is what the club deserves after the last few years, to have a day like this.

"The club has been through some tough times, so to see so many faces here and young faces as well, is so good to see.
