Fundraising campaign is launched to save community radio station
The Cornishman
|October 16, 2025
A COMMUNITY radio station is asking residents in West Cornwall for donations to keep it up and running.

Coast FM has launched a fundraising campaign to ensure its survival
Penwith Community Radio Station, trading as Coast FM, which has been on air since 2014, is a not-for-profit community interest company, run by volunteers.
The station broadcasts 24 hours a day, seven days a week on 96.5 FM and 97.2 FM, as well as online and via an app.
Now, its future is in doubt, according to chairman, Alan Shepherd.
He said: "Right now, we're struggling. We're a community radio station operating in a harsh commercial world, and a cruel economy is hitting us hard.
"Without urgent support, we could go off air. We're appealing to the community to help stop that from happening by supporting our crowdfunding campaign on GoFundMe. We're determined to keep Coast FM alive.
