Proteas U-19s looking for strong finish
The Citizen
|January 29, 2026
The South African Under-19 cricket team will be looking to finish on a high at the junior World Cup when they face Sri Lanka in their final match of the tournament in Namibia today.
It has been a tournament to forget for the young Proteas team who were knocked out of semifinal contention last Sunday, after going down to Australia in their first Super Sixes match.
They lost by six wickets, with a 103 balls remaining, after failing to post a score good enough to challenge the Australians.
The middle order were skittled by their opponents and South African captain Muhammed Bulbulia (right) will hope his side can turn their poor batting form around.
