ACCOUNTANTS: CREATES 'UNNECESSARY' COMPETITION AMONG UNIVERSITIES

The detailed analysis of the results published by the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (Saica) for almost a decade has come to an end. The decision was taken by the Chartered Accountant Professional Development Committee.

In the past, the analysis included the number of passes of first-timers and repeaters, gender and demographics (race of first-time candidates and race of all candidates) by university.

According to Saica, the rationale for the decision includes:
