The European Professional Club Rugby (EPCR) Champions Cup competition is supposed to be the pinnacle of franchise rugby, with some of the best club teams from around the world taking part in the competition.
It spans seven different countries, with France, England, Ireland, South Africa, Scotland, Wales and Italy all fielding teams in the competition, dependant on qualification.
It is the best of the best going head-to-head in the Champions Cup, but under its current format it leaves a lot to be desired.
The pool phase consists of four groups of six teams each, with the top four in each pool progressing to the knockouts - the last-16.
