BETCHWORTH HAS SEEN AN INCREASE OF MORE THAN 4,000 PASSENGER IN A YEAR

- By VICTORIA SHIPP victoria.shipp@reachplc.com @VickyShipp

SURREY'S quietest train station saw a huge increase in passengers this year, but still averaged less than 40 passengers a day.

Figures from the Office of Rail and Road show that Betchworth station is once again the least used section of Surrey's railway attracting only 14,482 passengers through its doors between April 2024 and March 2025.

Given its location this is perhaps not a surprise. The station is located in the small village of the same name, which has a population of around one thousand people. Located between Dorking and Reigate, it is in a largely rural area of the county.
