Simply not best

Wedding bells toll in the eagerly anticipated sequel to A Simple Favour which abides by marital tradition: something old (returning actors Anna Kendrick, Blake Lively and Henry Golding), something new (the delectable Allison Janney), something borrowed (ravishing Italian island locales) and something blue (filthy humour tumbling from characters’ curled lips).

Baking vlogger and mummy sleuth Stephanie Smothers (Kendrick) is on a publicity tour for her new book with her agent Vicky (Alex Newell) when she learns that Emily Nelson (Lively), the killer she put behind bars, has been released from prison on appeal. The glamorous jailbird gate-crashes a book reading and blackmails Stephanie into acting as her maid of honour at forthcoming nuptials to mafioso golden boy, Dante Versano (Michele Morrone), on the luxurious island of Capri.
