Arundell treble send the French a message ...and issues Scots a chilling Calcutta Cup warning

- ADAM HATHAWAY

HAT'S OFF TO HENRY

HENRY ARUNDELL started England's Six Nations off with a bang - and a hat-trick to celebrate his first start since October 2023.

England scored seven tries in an utterly dominant display to make it 12 wins on the spin.

But this was Wales - not France and both their game at home and their team are in disarray.

The visitors had four yellow cards, and though England had Maro Itoje and Luke CowanDickie binned with game done, this was a turkey shoot.

England fans will now be dreaming of a first title since 2020, and even a first Grand Slam in a decade, but they need to get the Murrayfield monkey off their back against Scotland.

They have not won there for six years and despite the Scots" loss to Italy that is one big hurdle that needs jumping, Bath wing Arundell last played a Test in the third place play-off against Argentina at the France World Cup but he made light of that absence with a trio of first-half tries.
