Families in a flap as brazen birds climb on roofs and raid veg patches

A PRIDE of pesky peacocks are ruffling feathers and keeping families awake as they wander around a Midland village.

Residents of aptly-named Tutbury, in Staffordshire, have had enough of the birds, which they say trample plants, leave droppings and squawk from 5am to 2am the next morning.

The 40 peacocks - known as a pride - climb on roofs and munch vegetables, and the parish council is urging people not to feed them.

No one even knows who owns the flock, which one resident said had grown hugely since she moved into Tutbury 12 years ago.
